TRUE NORTH FAN CLUB
TO DO: Join the True North Fan Club.
The True North Fan Club (TNFC) is a Facebook group. It’s an easy way for you to directly reach TN customers. Post in the group when you add merchandise or redo your booth, and our customers will become your newest fans and customers.

TRUE NORTH FAMILY
TO DO: Friend request Stacey.
This is a private FB group for TN vendors & staff only. (Not customers. Not friends.) It’s one place for TN vendors to talk, make new friends, ask about pricing, and for TN mgmt to communicate info. We are a no drama, all inclusive group.

TERMS
Thrift (yes) vs Resale (no)
Thrift is when you find a pair of vintage converse, likely not your size. Resale is when you buy yourself shoes, then put them for sale in your space. Thrift is vintage Pyrex. Resale is a waffle maker, new in the box. Ask if unsure. Handmade items must be made by you. Resale not allowed.

NOT ALLOWED
Items “Pulled” off the sales floor.
Occasionally TN Mgmt will pull items off the sales floor that violate the TN policies. Check the Land of Untagged items for these items too. Mgmt attaches a note to explain. Contact Mgmt with questions.

RETURNS
Not typical.
TN policy does NOT accept returns. If the customer has a receipt and a valid reason (clothing didn’t fit), and it’s within 7 days, a manager will process a return. This is not typical. Tag must be attached and receipt must match. Most returns on your reports are due to issues at checkout. (Customer decided not to buy, not enough money on them, can’t fit in their car, etc.)

PETS
Leave them at home.
TN does not allow any pets in the store. We are sure they are cute and loved, but a few of our employees are very allergic. Leave the pets at home when you come to restock.

LIGHTING
Lighting is key.
You must supply your own lightbulbs. Use energy efficient LED-only lightbulbs in all lights, including Christmas lights. No vintage, incandescent, or halogen bulbs. If you sell a lamp, we will keep the lightbulb for you. We suggest using clip lights. It helps a lot. Two lights only per booth please. All lights are turned off at night by circuit breakers.

BROKEN ITEMS
Things break. It’s a fact.
TN policy is to NOT charge customers for broken items. It does not happen often. Customers should feel comfortable shopping. If an item breaks, it will be rung up. It will show on your report as $0.00. We do not save the items.

HIDE & SEEK
The wandering items.
Items tend to wander around the store. It’s a part of retail and customers shopping. If you find others items in your space, please bring them to the register. When shopping the store, be on the lookout for your items. Shoppers tend to leave items in wrong places.

THEFT
It is not a problem at TN.
With that said, this is a part of retail. All stores have to deal with shoplifting. TN has cameras. We do our best to protect all items and have prosecuted shoplifters. Items you put in TN are at your own risk. If you notice something missing, please send an email.

INSURANCE
TN does not insure your items.
TN insurance does not cover vendor items, fixtures, or property. This includes theft, natural disasters, fire, and more. You may want to consult your insurance agent about coverage. By signing the contract you acknowledge that you understand this.

A 1099 for your sales over $600 will be mailed by January 31. It is up to you to notify TN of any address change BY JANUARY 1. Due to the costs, we have to charge to issue a duplicate 1099. There is also a 5% rent increase every April to keep up with inflation.

LOCKED CASES
Small valuables
While shoplifting is not a major issue at TN, your items are in the store at your own risk. You are welcome to put small items, valuable items, and/or jewelry in a locked case. Customers will ask staff to open. Just make sure TN ahs a copy of the key.

POOR SALES
98% of vendors meet sales goals monthly.
Life happens. Life gets busy. You may miss sales goals occasionally. However, after three months in a row of missing sales you will receive a vacate notice. We strive to not be a storage unit, but an everchanging store.
